Here is a friendly reminder: It’s okay to not understand something or someone.
For the people who don’t get gay marriage, who can’t wrap their heads around what it means to be transgender, who can’t understand why another guy would want to sleep with another guy, or can’t understand why a woman doesn’t want to look like the images of feminine stereotypes constantly portrayed EVERYWHERE, I am here to tell you it’s okay to not understand.
But, your discomfort is a you problem, not the problem of the something or someone you don’t understand. You may just have to accept what you don’t understand.
The good news is that there are plenty of other subjects on which you can be an expert.
But my personal experience is not one of them.
You might not know what’s inside of me, but I am willing to show you if you are willing to be a little uncomfortable.
I promise to do the same.
